Rustenburg - At the age of five, Shaldon Gibson’s dad put a rugby ball in his hands and now 14 years later he is still actively pursuing the sport.

“My brother and I basically grew up with a rugby ball in our hands.” Shaldon said in an interview with Platinum Weekly.

This 19-year-old is a utility forward and plays any position where the Newrak Impala team needs him. Most of the time however he wears the number eight jersey.

Shaldon is currently a learner engineer at Newrak Mining and doing his diesel trade.

Rugby is his passion, but he loves a delicious braai with steak and creamy garlic sauce.

His parents are the most important people in his life. They are his biggest supporters and are always cheering him on not only on the field but also in life.

When asked what his life motto is Shaldon said: “I always give my best in whatever I do and never stop trying to be the best.”
