Rustenburg – Bergsig Academy successfully hosted it’s fourth Motor Show on Saturday 24 August.


This yearly exhibition draws car buffs to view everything from vintage classic collectables to the latest dream vehicles and much more! The day was a big success with various stalls, amazing cars, a strong man appearance and fun for the whole family. Muscle cars, rat rods, and stationary engines were all on display.


During the event exhibitioners were rewarded for their dedication and their hard work they’ve put into their cars.

  • People’s choice – Mad Max
  • Best restored sedan – Maryna Aspeling
  • Best restored pickup truck – Steph Harmse
  • Best original motor – Hans Ihrck 
  • Ladies choice – Mark Bester
  • Best engine – Henrico Heyser
  • Principal’s choice – Franz du Plessis
  • Best stationary engine – Dandre Mitchell
  • Best finish – Gerrit van Emmenis
  • Best veteran sedan – Des Prinsloo

The men and women from Strongmen entertained the crowd with their extraordinary strength by lifting weights far over 100km.

Gerhard van Staden, often referred to as one of the continent’s strongest men managed to pull a 10ton truck unassisted.
