Mooinooi/ Brits – Make a difference this Mandela Day by contributing towards the welfare of abused and vulnerable women and children.

Nelson Mandela International Day is celebrated each year on 18 July (the birthday of the late former South African president).

On this day, each of us is called to honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela and his values through volunteering and community service.

Grace Help Centre, which provides support and care to children and women who come from abusive environments, needs your help. Bring joy to these children by assisting the centre with any of the following items: six camping or wooden cots, 20 mattresses and matching bedding and pillows, curtains with cheerful children’s prints, 10 feeding chairs, toddler stimulation play pits with plastic balls and stimulation toys. Educational posters and other student materials, as well as scooters and bicycles are also needed for the early childhood development centre at the facility.

Help Centre’s victim empowerment programme, which provides a home for 25 women, is in need of the following items: face cloths, pamper products or hand creams, notebooks, toiletries, clothing, washing machines, chairs, lounge suites and cushions.

can also assist the centre to construct a lock-up storage facility for storing personal essentials of victims or a skills training centre to rehabilitate women so that they can run their income-generating projects and become functional members of society.

a registered non-profit organization (NPO), Grace Help Centre will gladly offer a tax rebate certificate for the value of the donation in appreciation of the gesture.
