Rustenburg – Courage to Change, based in Rustenburg, is an initiative by addicts, for addicts, and is dedicated to raising funds to pay for the rehabilitation of individuals who have hit rock bottom and have no means to pay for it themselves.

They will be hosting their first annual fun hike to raise funds for addicts who cannot afford rehabilitation at Loerkop Adventures Rustenburg on Saturday 5 September.

There are five trails to choose from:

  • Pensioner trail – 2km
  • Kudu trail – 3km
  • Moepel boom trail – 5km
  • Krans trail – 8km
  • For the extreme hikers, they will have the ‘Only the Brave’ trail starting at 07:00 which covers 8kms including a 350m steep climb.

Food stalls will be available along the trail and raffles will be held – so be sure to bring cash for the day. Social 'friendly' dogs can join their owners as long as they are on a leash.

Cost of entry for adults is R80, and R40 for children under 12. All proceeds will go towards the Courage to Change cause.
