Might be linked with shootout at substation

Rustenburg – The body of an unknown male was found close to the entrance to Eskom – next to the N4 towards Swartruggens (just past the first turnoff to Koster) on Monday afternoon 11 October.

Police suspect that the body might be linked with a shootout the week before between security guards and alleged thieves on Eskom’s premises, during which one of the security guards was killed and another was seriously injured. 

According to police spokesperson sergeant Ofentse Mokgadi, the security guards were guarding the Eskom substation. Over the past year there has been several incidents where Eskom security guards have been killed or seriously injured.
