Mooinooi/ Brits – On Tuesday 26 October, two armed robbers held the director and financial manager of Grace Help Centre at gunpoint before robbing them off R100,000.

Grace Help Centre in Mooinooi provides shelter for victims of domestic violence and abuse.  They recently, through the media, requested local businesses and community members to help them to buy a new vehicle, to donate groceries and asked for funds for their back-to-school campaign.

Apparently, the armed men followed the director and financial manager, as they entered the centre with their vehicle, through the main gate. “They took the R100 000 and fled the scene in a car,” the Platinum Weekly was told.

Police spokesperson captain Aafjie Botma confirmed the incident: “Police are looking for two suspects and no arrests have been made yet. Investigations are underway.”

Grace Help Centre is calling on business organisations and any well-wishers to assist them during their hour of need.

In light of the attack, the centre is in urgent need of a security company to prevent similar attacks in future as well as any other financial support that could assist them to overcome the challenges they now face as a result of this huge financial loss.
