ATM bombing in Rustenburg North

Rustenburg – The owners of a tavern situated in Rustenburg North are still counting their losses after an ABSA ATM next to the tavern was bombed.

Police confirmed that the ATM at Cosy Corner was bombed on Tuesday 15 March at around 00:50. 

“At this stage, we do not know how many suspects were involved as we do not have any eyewitnesses yet,” police spokesperson captain Aafjie Botma told Platinum Weekly.

It is also not yet clear how much money the suspects managed to get away with. 

An employee at Cosy Corner, said the bombing had adversely affected their business. “Our customers cannot withdraw their money and incidents of this nature always leave people feeling insecure,” the manager said.
