Requirements

We are urgently looking for a Sleep Technician (Clinical Technician)

The successful candidate will have to meet the following minimum requirements:

Qualifications

• A diploma or advanced diploma in a relevant technical discipline
• Degree in science or psychology
• Qualification in a sleep related discipline is highly desirable

Minimum Experience of the Job

• Experience in the application of appropriate ventilatory therapy in complex respiratory conditions that results in ventilatory insufficiency
• Extensive experience in the technical and interventional roles of a sleep laboratory
• Management training/experience, particularly with respect to team development
• Experience in supervising staff
• Familiarity with commercial office software such as MS Office and other modern communication mediums such as Intranet
• Experience in respiratory or neuro-physiological measurements
• Experience in performing and analysing sleep studies
• High level of experience in computer applications

Duties and responsibilities 

• Explaining procedures, observing and position patients, and using protective devices to ensure safety and comfort during examination or treatment
• Position treatment equipment and adjusting settings and controls according to technical specifications
• Monitoring patients’ conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to medical practitioners
• Following prescription issued by a medical practitioner
• Operating or overseeing operation equipment
• Reviewing and evaluating information and recording results of procedures
